A very special comedy show! Get ready to laugh and learn some sh*t when these stand up comics of different races and cultures sound off on the stupidest, most evil man-made invention ever: racism. Followed by a roundtable, the comics dig into the issues behind their jokes, riff on each other's sets, and create world peace. It ain't over till the white lady asks for the manager!
A little background from the show producer Emily James:
“Wake Up Becky” is inspired by my experience as a white lady coming to terms with my whiteness while being surrounded by talented comics of different races and cultures whose voices need to be heard by the masses. It’s meant to “edu-tain” and if comics want to roast white people, this is the show to do it!!
We will also have a moderated round table discussion after the performances where comics will riff about whatever might come up. It’s meant to bring levity to the issue of racism to get people thinking and talking.
